MakeUp Artist

My name is Naria Velazquez. I was born and raised in Stamford, CT. As a little girl, I loved playing with my mother’s makeup and watching her as she applied her lipstick and blush on every morning. I copied her as I put makeup on myself and my younger sisters. These are the moments that I could look back and reflect on when I fell in love with makeup and beauty.

After graduating high school, I wanted to do something beautifully artistic with my life. I have always believed that having an education was very important. I attended Western Connecticut State University and studied art. This was my first venture in my school studies but not my only one.

Young and thriving for more knowledge and experience, I decided to go to a prestigious cosmetics institution in NYC, The Make-up Designory, where I received my certification; this enabled me with the skills of how to do beauty, bridal, theatrical, television and film makeup on all women and men of ethnic backgrounds, ages and skin types. It was in school where I fell in love with the beauty industry.

Makeup artistry became my new love and passion; I landed great jobs to work with makeup in fashion shows and theater productions but found my niche in the more personal experiences in a makeup boutique where I was helping women on how to apply makeup and helping them choose the best techniques and colors for their faces. I enjoyed making women feel as lovely on the outside as they were on the inside. That is when I realized that I was born for this because makeup is enhancing the beautiful features that we all have.

I was given an amazing opportunity to team up with OCCASIONS BY ELENA and I’m so grateful to bring glamorous, classy and tasteful looks to all women and girls; to make everyone feel and look beautiful as they should every day of their lives.
